Daddy and Fair

On Thursday Jessica's preschool had a Doughnuts with Dad day.  Here is a picture of Joe with his little girls before he and Jessica left for preschool.

Jessica enjoyed showing her daddy all her favorite toys and she made him this special tie with her footprint on it.
Here are the girls chillin' on the couch again.
The fair came to Pensacola, so we went.

There was also a little petting zoo at the fair.
Jessica fed the goats...
 And the donkey.
Jessica and I rode the flying elephants...

 the caterpillar...

the flying bees...
 And these airplanes (see video).

Jessica posed for a photo when she found this person in an cat suit (she can't resist people in character costumes).
We went to church on Sunday.  Jessica only lasted five minutes because she knows that the nursery has awesome toys.
Allison is starting to figure it out too.
We took  the girls to the pediatrician today and the exam table looked like a fire engine.  Jessica had fun pretending that she was a firefighter.  Allison had fun tearing the paper protector into tiny pieces.

Slumber Party

We had a cousin slumber party last weekend.  Megan came over after dinner time on Saturday.  She was trying to avoid having to go to the playground because it was after dark.  As you can see from these pictures our kids are spoiled and get to do what ever they want.

A fun moment of the evening was when Kathryn poured water on Joe's head... you can see that Jessica is getting some ideas in her head.
Nathan showed up at our door with three six packs of Danimals and he was suppose to say, "Let's get this party started!" but he said, "Here you go Aunt Lexi".  He did say his hilarious line when we cracked those puppies open though.  The kids each threw back a healthy serving of smoothie that night.
Joe taught Nathan how to play Jacks while the girls watched.
The kids got glow sticks before bed to play with.  And they jumped on the bed a lot too.

Cousin huddle.
Megan brought us a Minnie Mouse costume for Jessica since she accidentally ordered two online.  Luckily she brought Kathryn's with her too.  Jessica had to put on the outfit as soon as she saw it.
Jessica shared her mouse ears with Nathan.

They are painfully adorable and they know it!
The day after the slumber party we got to see a Sesame Street USO show on base for free.
Jessica got to sit next to Nathan.
A little sword fighting with the glowing spinning Elmo wand they were giving out for free.
Allison fell asleep right as the show was starting so Megan held her so I could get some sweet snuggle time with my little J.
Of course we ate lunch at the A & W before the show.  We let the kids run wild and terrorize the enlisted guys
If you look closely you can see Allison's tiny little face behind Jessica's head, she has to do everything the big kids are doing.

Here are a few pictures from the week before the slumber party.  I had to move the pink chair away from the hope chest because Allison was using to climb up there.
Allison has taken over Jessica's pink chair and Jessica has taken over Allison's flower chair.
Best friends... most of the time.
Daddy is Allison's Ambien.

Here's a video of some baby wrestling.
And here's a video of Allison being herself.

Three Ring Circus

I always tell people that I am running a three ring circus.  But, after seeing the circus this weekend, my job is a little more complicated...

I took the girls to Chuck E Cheese this week.
They love smashing the mice in the "Hammer Game", I just wish there was more than one hammer.
Jessica is starting to end her love affair with Chuck E.  Lately she wants to see the airplanes at the museum.

Bubble baths are still a favorite past time.

We took the girls to the circus on Friday night.  Joe had a Romney moment and put Jessica on the top of the car and, ofcourse, Allison had to do it too.

I guess the car helped prepare Jessica for the elephant ride.
Jessica chuckled happily while we rode Dumbo.
The circus was a hit.  I think Allison actually enjoyed it more than Jessica.  Alli sat still and watched the show and clapped at the appropriate times.  It felt like it was over a hundred degrees under the circus tent though.
We watched Nathan play soccer on Saturday.
Kathryn showed Jessica how to have a good time on the sidelines.

Nathan scored his first two goals ever while we were there.  Jessica must be his good luck cousin.
Aunt Megan pointed to Nathan on the field and Jessica looked for a minute and then ran onto the field to greet him.  I got a video of Kathryn talking about it.  (It's a funny video because you can see Jessica eat a booger and Allison trying to force her pacifier into Joe's mouth.)

We went out to lunch after the game and Nathan kept Jessica entertained... for as long as he could.  She almost made it back to the kitchen and almost pushed the alarm on an exit door.
Aunt Megan made sure both girls had their own thermos with Gatorade.  Allison played just as hard at Nathan and Kathryn's house as Jessica.  Allison made it all the way to the top of the stair without help (their house has twelve foot ceilings!).  The girls both fell asleep on the way home.

Here's a video of Allison begging for daddy's ice cream.
Joe and Jessica share a dance.
Here's a short video of the girls in Allison's room (AKA "the playroom").
