Surprise Visitors!

Well, I've been here almost six months and I've been wondering when someone from my family would come visit me and it finally happened!  My brother-in-law, Steve, made the long 16 hour journey to come out and see me this week.  Sure, he had work to do for the Air Force while here, but I'll tell myself it was just to visit me.   I hope Nate isn't too upset with us for hanging out without him.  To make things even cooler, my good buddy, Shalin from way back in B-1s was also here for a few weeks so we all got together at the sports bar on base and enjoyed our three drinks.  I hadn't seen Shalin since me and Lexi attended his wedding back in 2009 so it was definitely a nice surprise to run into him.  This base is definitely the crossroads of the Air Force because I've run into tons of people that I  haven't seen in years.

Daily Life

We've been enjoying the big comfy couch that Grandpa brought us on the Fourth of July.
Jessica found a new use for the toy bins.
We went to the pool with Grandad on Thursday night.  Jess was pretending to be a Salmon and Alli had a close encounter with a stranger, but she made it bad to home base (mommy) before she turned into stone or something equally awful.

We've been putting a lot of miles on the old jogging stroller.  I run around 7 am and feed the girls their breakfast while I run, then let them play at a park afterward.  We were counting dogs in the park this day, we counted 19.
Grandpa Jim made a special trip up to Chico so he could see his girls before he left on vacation.  It sounds like a lot of fun.  I think I would enjoy the TMZ tour in hollywood and my hubby would like touring the city that they filmed "Sideways" in.  I hope you enjoy your time off and I can't wait to hear all about it when you get back dad.

I love how Jessica tries to trade so she can get the book away from sissy, I taught her that.

We took the girls to Caper Acres to play.  I didn't know that the sprinklers would be on.  Here are a couple videos.

What do dirt and water make? Jessica: "Mud!"
The garden at Meema and Grandad's house is flourishing.  The girls got to pick carrots this morning.

Here is a video in the garden.

Last Week Recap

On the Fourth of July we went to a BBQ at my Aunt Mel's. Jessica enjoyed having her Aunt Lindsay draw chalk art on her legs.

Aunt Lindsay also showed me a very fun way to go down the pool slide, check it out in this video.

 Jessica loves wearing Meema's shoes.
Allison has Grandad wrapped around her little finger, and she knows it!
Meema usually comes over on Tuesday nights and Grandad comes over on Thursday nights for a visit with us during the week.  Here is a video of Grandad giving Allison a pony ride at the apartment, it reminds me of Joe trying to ride a camel (hee hee).

Cute picture of the girls right after I picked them up from preschool one day last week.  Allison looks forward to going to preschool now and she doesn't even cry when I leave.
The girls were waiting patiently for their mommy to open the door.  I dropped all the bags I was carrying and snapped a picture.
Allison loves this new swimsuit.  She wears the hood up and Jessica pretends to smell her.
We went to a sprinkler play date with my Chico moms group last week.  The girls had a lot of fun and, thanks to my iPhone, I didn't have to miss a Skype with Joe.

Here are a couple videos from the sprinkler play date.

I've tried to take Jessica to the movies twice now I've decided that it is still too soon.  We tried to see Monsters University and Despicable Me 2 and Jess got bored about 2/3 of the way through.  To her credit, I was a little bored myself.
Here is a video of Jessica eating popcorn.

Playing Around

I took Jessica to see Monsters University last Friday.  She had fun playing with the fold out seat, eating popcorn and getting to drink pink lemonade from a cup larger than her head.  She lasted until the part where they were having a scare competition and then she got a little scared.
Daddy recorded a couple books that I sent him for his birthday and sent them back to us.  Jessica's favorite one is the Super Hero book.  I like the way her face lights up when she hears Joe's voice.

I let Jess get a sour pacifier candy at the store, thinking it might stop her from nagging me for things in future, and these are the videos from that adventure.

I took the girls to a Wild Animal show last week.  Can you find Jessica sitting in the crowd?

Jessica enjoys watching Youtube videos on the computer. Here is a video of the girls watching the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles theme song right after a nap.

This is Jessica's favorite You Tube video:

Grandpa brought us some doughnuts when he came for a visit last Sunday.

Here are a few videos of the girls playing together.  In the first video Jess is pretending that the beads are ice cream.
