New Sand Box

Meema and Grandad built a new sand box for the girls at their house, it even has a cover.  The girls really enjoy a romp in the sand box.  Just when I thought their house couldn't possibly be any more fun.  Meema said it is part of Jessica's birthday present.

It's very relaxing to watch my little ones play in the sand.

Hmm, how long will it take for them to get all of that sand out of the sand box? Place your bets.
After the sand box time, the girls had some fun in the backyard.  Here are some videos.

This next video is funny because I had just told Jessica not to spray Allison so Jessica just stood there and Allison walked right into the water.  But then Jessica took some enjoyment in getting sister even more wet.

Here are some pictures from Meema's camera.

Meema and Grandad took the girls to a parade a couple Saturdays ago.

Jessica likes to go shoe shopping in Meema's closet.

Playing in the fountain at River Bend Park.
I LOVE it when they hold hands.
Every night at bath time I ask the girls, "bubbles or no bubbles". Jessica always says bubbles and Allison says no bubbles.  See why in this video.

Jessica got out of the bath and she was cold so I put a towel around her, she looked so cute sitting on the toilet with a towel that I took a video.

Silver Dollar Fair

The Silver Dollar Fair came to Chico last weekend. Friday night was kids night and my BFF Stephanie was visiting with her little girl, Hannah.  It was a perfect thing to take the kids to for some long lasting memories.  Before we get into the fair pictures and memories, I will share some of our breakfast at Krispy Kreme with you.  The girls picked the chocolate sprinkle doughnuts and Allison ate 3/4 of hers while Jessica ate the frosting and left the doughnut.
A doughnut is a wonderful thing, especially when it gives mommy a few minutes of peace and quiet.

Here is a video of the girls eating their doughnuts.
In this next video the manager walks up and starts to smile at the girls, check out the look on Allison's face at the very end.
After Krispy Kreme we went to one of our favorite parks where I got these candid shots.

The girls shared a snack in the spaceship on the way to the fair.  They are watching Puss in Boots together.  Jessica's favorite line in the movie is when the girl cat is talking about the golden goose and she says, "it's a gold pooper, we're taking it!"
 BFFs
Always a crazy adventure with me and Steph, we may have had kids but we didn't lose our goofy side.
Sorry these next picture loaded sideways.
The videos should be a little better than the picture.

Here's a video to show how excited Allison was to ride the pony, she was squirmy and throwing a fit.

The girls got to shake a little monkeys hand, just like last year.  Allison wanted nothing to do with the freaky little animal and she almost cried when I tried to make her shake its hand.
Jessica got on a big bungee jumping ride.  She was really serious until I started calling her red rabit and then the mood changed.  Here's a video.red rabbit jumper

Jessica was a little sponge on this trip, she saw a woman smoking and turned to look at me with a disgusted look on her face and that made me feel good.  Jessica also saw a bunch of little piglets nursing on their big momma pig and that stuck with her because she was standing next to Allison this morning pulling her shirt over her head saying, "I'm a big momma pig and Alli is a baby pig and she needs to drink milk from my ninnies".

Play Time

Most of the day is spent playing and we know all the best spots in Chico to play now.  Bidwell park is pretty huge so we haven't fully explored it yet.  There is an entrance to Bidwell park just down the street from our apartments near the Chico Creek Nature Center.  We took Grandpa there on his most recent visit with us.  Alli held his hand and made sure he didn't get lost, it's a big park (hee hee).
Allison and Jessica gave Grandpa a nice tour, Jessica was leading the pack.
We found a shallow part of the creek to skip rocks in.  Well, mostly shallow, Allison still managed to fall in and completely submerge herself.  Luckily, momma is always prepared with a change of clothes.  This isn't my first rodeo!
There was another little girl there with her mommy, about 2 years old, you can hear her talking in the background of this skipping rocks video.
Jessica showed Grandpa how to sneak up on squirrels (her daddy taught her that).  Allison was oblivious clomping around with a look on her face that said, "why are you guys being so quiet?"
Grandpa showed the girls how to juggle.

One of the girls favorite playgrounds is at Hooker Oak Park.  It is just the right size so they can climb on it but it still feels dangerous, they love pushing the limits.

Here's a video of Allison using the slide at Hooker Oak.

This is a good climbing tree we found at a neighborhood park in the California Park area of town, the rich people live here.

Jessica thinks that she will never outgrow the baby swing, she still insists that I put her in it with sissy.  I was barely able to squeeze them in this last time and the swing looked like it was going to break, it made me a little nervous.

Allison loves trying on new clothes and dressing up.  She puts beads on and a purse and then she gets her shopping cart and runs around the apartment screaming, "watch out!"

The girls still love their green wagon.
We went to a neighboring apartment complex and found this playground.  It was a little too tall for the girls to climb up so I parked the wagon for them to use as a step stool.  The slide was a lot of fun.

Here are a couple videos of the girls going down the slide.

Daddy sent the girls a package.  He sent some oreos in the package.
Here's a video of the girls talking to their daddy on the computer.  I like the smile on Allison's face when she finally gets in the tub (look in the mirror).

If these girls got any more stuffed animals, well, they have a bunch.

Here are a couple cute videos of the girls doing headstands for daddy on skype.

Allison's first day of Preschool

I should be asleep right now but I am missing my babies' daddy so much right now that I think sharing these pictures will help me fall asleep.  Here is a picture of my little war torn refugees on little sisters first day.  I expected to see Allison crying when I walked in but... I hear a child screeching hysterically like she'd gotten really hurt (stung by a bee or something).  When I realized it was Jessica I ran over to where she was at expecting the worst case scenario but I could tell she was pretty intact, no life threatening injuries.  Then the teacher tells me that Jessica is upset because she doesn't want to clean up or stand in line.  Yikes!  Daddy heard the whole conversation because I failed to hang up the Skype on my iPhone when I ran to Jessica.  I don't know which of my little munchkins looks more miserable in this picture.
I put the girls on a sleep schedule to help ensure that they are rested when the go to preschool.  I have checked on both of them through out their mornings there and it seems to have improved both of their experiences and general demeanor.
Now they expect to sit on the bench a take a picture every time.  Whether they sit still and look at the camera is irrelevant to them.
Allison's favorite part of preschool is when they get to go to the gym.
