Grandad's Visit

Grandad took a road trip over to visit his two favorite granddaughters in Las Vegas.  They were excited to share their new city with Grandad.  When he walked in the front door Jessica said, "Grandad, we have volcanoes in Las Vegas!"  We didn't take him to see the volcano this visit but Jessica said we could take him next visit, as long as we stand a little further back.  We showed Grandad our favorite park.

We also took Grandad to The Giggle Box, an indoor play place here in North Las Vegas.
Jessica has always enjoyed wearing Grandad's hat.
We went back to the Science museum since I figured it was safer to take them there when I had backup, they definitely could get lost easily there.

 Allison got all dolled up.

We went to Krispy Kreme and then bought a fish tank with Jessica's birthday gift cards.
The fish didn't last a day.  Allison tried to feed them play dough.

We took Grandad to the mermaid show at the Silverton Casino.  It was totally geared toward little girls and Jessica was completely enamored.

Watch Jessica in these videos.

The Bass Pro Shop inside the Silverton Casino was a taxidermist's playground.
 Yep, a real stuffed giraffe.
A whole family of lions, there was even a Meema and Grandad lion.

We met Grandad's sister, Deb, at the marina in Lake Mohave.
Deb and her husband, Ken, took us out on their boat for the day.
We had a really fun day on the lake and neither of the girls got a sunburn.

The best part of the lake trip was definitely the dog, Jazzy, as far as Jessica was concerned.
Jazzy was one of the kids, or vice versa.  All I know is, they swam together, played catch together, sat in the front of the boat together and even napped a little together.

Here are a couple bonus videos.

A Week with Meema

We got to spend a whole week with Meema.  We managed to pack a lot of fun into that week even though Allison had a nasty stomach bug for a couple days in the middle of Meema's visit.  We took Meema over to our new house and Joe showed her around the inside of the construction site while I played with the girls at our park across the street.

We also showed Meema the model home so she could get a better idea of what our home would look like.  Allison made herself right at home in the model home.  I had to remake the bed in this bedroom too.
After we showed Meema our new home, we took her to a nearby park.  Allison really enjoyed using the water cannon on the other kids.

We took Meema downtown to check out the Discovery Science Museum too.  Allison would spend all day in the water exhibit if we let her.

Jessica's favorite part was the stage.  She saw some girls singing and chanting cheers and she just had to be a part of it.  It was video gold.  She reminds me so much of myself when I was little.

Our selfie on the bench in front of the Science Museum.
Of course we had to take Meema downtown and walk the strip, she's never been to Las Vegas before.
Jessica is afraid of the volcano.  It was pretty intense.

Allison wouldn't cooperate with the family photo.
One night Meema and I went zombie hunting at a paintball arena while Joe stayed with the girls.

I don't think Meema would do so well in a zombie apocalypse.  She kept trying to kill them (they're already dead Meema, the gun is only meant to slow them down, run!). But, honestly, I have the coolest mom ever.
We brought Meema to our favorite park.

All in all, a week full of wonderful moments.  We can't wait for your next visit Meema!
