Fun with Grandpa

Grandpa took his girls to Funderland and the zoo yesterday.  Jessica rode every ride they had at Funderland.   I know because I went with her, except for the little fish ride, that ride is just for little kids.

Here is a video of the Fish ride, or the Octopus ride...

The girls got to ride on real ponies too.  We were skyping with Joe on my iPhone while we waited for the pony ride and daddy got to watch his little girls pick out their ponies before he went to work yesterday.

After the pony rides we went across the street to the zoo.  Jessica pretended to be a giant blue spider and Allison pretended that the big blue spider bit her finger.
Most of the pictures I take of Allison are blurry, she doesn't sit still.

Allison got a lot of quality time with Grandpa yesterday.  Partly because the rides don't make me sick and partly because Jessica was being a mommy monger.  The only time that Allison does actually sit still is when she's on the back of a horse!  Then she's so still that it is hard to tell if she is enjoying herself.
Jessica was transformed into Spider-Man (red rabbit).

Here's a video of us on the carousel.  Jess kept staring at herself in the mirrors of the carousel.

We rode the scary dragon roller coaster four times! We would've been on it all day but I didn't want to make Grandpa deal with a napless Allison, she was a ticking time bomb, even though he said that she was being a doll.  Here are a couple videos of the dragon roller coaster.  Jessica's scream is fake, she was doing it for effect because she heard me and other people screaming.

I do have a mild case of whiplash today.

Being a super hero and fighting bad guys is serious business.
Jessica, I mean red rabbit, was on the look out for bad guys while we flew in the airplanes.  Here's a video.
 Crime fighting is exhausting work.

Happy Birthday Daddy

Jessica said, "Make a Wish" really sweetly right after I stopped the recording.

Father's Day

I got to have a really nice visit with my dad on Father's Day.  The girls even tried to cooperate, as much as possible.  We took Grandpa to the spider web park and the girls showed off some of their gymnastic skills.  It is hard to watch them constantly teetering on the edge of disaster and they have absolutely no fear, as Grandpa found out.

Luckily, for Allison's sake, Grandpa was there to catch her every time.
Look closely, you can see Jess catching some air.
 Don't look down!

Here's a few videos of my dad playing with the girls at our apartment.  Notice how good Jessica is at taking turns... then there's Alli...

After the park Grandpa treated his girls to some delicious Burger King (it was my idea).  He even got some caffeine free sprite, I noticed and appreciated it.  These girls don't take no for an answer when it comes to fountain drinks and caffeine brings out the gremlins in them.

We've been having mini ice cream cones every day this week.  They are way too messy to eat in the house so I always have them eat them outside and then I put them in the bath or take them to the pool directly.

The weather has been beautiful too, perfect driving weather.

For Daddy

Happy Father's Day!

The girls got up this morning and wanted to make their daddy a card.

You will be getting your cards in your next package daddy.
Here's a video.

We love you daddy, have a wonderful Father's Day!

Pool Party at Grandpa's!

My dad hosted a birthday party for my Uncle's girlfriend's little girl, Naomi 8, last Sunday.  Last Saturday it was a record breaking 110 degrees but then it cooled off significantly on Sunday with some pretty crazy winds.  Not to worry, my dad's pool is heated.  Now that is comfort!  Here is a funny video of Grandpa trying to get Allison's swimsuit on her.  If you listen carefully towards the end Alli says, "Na Na, Can't catch me!" It's right before the part where Jessica tackles her to the floor and gives her a rug burn on her right cheek.

Here are a couple videos of the girls swimming with Grandpa.

It was a little too hot for the girls to enjoy the bubbles this time as much as they did last time.
My girls have gotten spoiled by having a pool right outside their front door.  They still love to swim but they didn't stay in the pool very long because they realized that they were missing out on stuff inside the house.  Here is a video of them playing with Grandpa and some balloons.
Balloon Mania

Now this next sequence of pictures is funny.  Notice how Allison squeezes the boy out of his play spot entirely.  She just looks so innocent though!

Allison was a corn eating champion.  She actually preferred the corn over a cookie.  Blew my mind.
Here is a video of Allison eating corn.
 Another picture from the party.

Funny story.  There is a little boy named Ali that lives in our apartments.  He and Jessica sometimes clash on topics that they discuss.  In this picture they are having a heated debate about the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (heroes in a half shell, turtle power!  hee hee). Jessica was crossing her arms and giving him a mean stare down, she knew she was right.  I knew she was right but I was not going to interject my opinion (that would be uncool, I am a mom after all).
Here is a video of the tail end of their debate.

A Day on the Farm

Jessica (and Allison) has been enjoying all of her new toys from her Birthday.  She told me that she wanted to turn 3 again the other day and have a Birthday party again.
Jessica has the complete Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle collection.  Here she is making them battle a rattle snake.  I know it's a cobra but to her a rattle snake is bad and you can't tell her otherwise.
Allison is starting to enjoy preschool.  She has been quite chatty with the teachers, now that she is over being scared.  They like to tell me all the things she says. Like, "Uh oh, spaghettios" and "I don't like that!".  Yes, my baby is talking complete sentences now.
I call this extreme pudding eating.
Here's a video: Chocolate Pudding

We went to the free play at the gym here in Chico last week.

When I give the girls a choice they always pick their Tennessee shirts, that should make their daddy happy.
I hope there is a gymnastics class where we are in a couple years, our girls love to climb and tumble.
There was a special Fair at Patrick Ranch last Saturday.  You can see the tractors in the background of this first picture.
They had sweet momma milking goats on the farm.

Jessica tried to feed the milking goats.
There was also a baby goat petting area.  The baby goats would suck on your fingers.

Here is a video of the baby goats.
At first the goats were nice and they just nibbled lightly on you.  But after a little while they realized that they weren't getting what they wanted, milk, so they got quite aggressive.  In this video you can see a goat nipping the inside of Jessica's thigh and another goat climbing up on Allison to eat her hair.

Jessica got a spider web with at colorful spider painted on her arm.
Here's a video.

Yes, she got made when I washed it off.

We also rode the Cinderella carriage and Jessica got to drive.
Here's a couple videos of the pony ride.

The ponies and their carriage can be rented for special events.  Do you think this would be fun for Allison's 2nd Birthday?

Here are a couple bonus videos for daddy on Father's Day.  His job use to be doing the nightly bath and I'm sure he is missing those precious baths.  I tried to take this video discretely so you can see what they are like when they take their baths every night.

More Lady and Paw Paw

I took a lot of pictures while Lady and Paw Paw where here.  This is the rest of the pictures and videos that are going to make it on the blog.  I hope I didn't forget any particularly cute picture or video.  We ate dinner at Pasta Productions the night before Lady and Paw Paw left.  Jessica was playing with her new tablet and that made dinner go fairly smoothly.  Allison is usually happy as long as there is food in front of her but I always have a book or two to keep her happy right before we eat.

My little girls love to read.  They are constantly picking up books and asking me to read.  Lady and Paw Paw got their share of story time too.  Allison will pick up a book and, if you are sitting on the floor, plop right down in your lap and demand that you read to her.
Here is a video of them reading.

Reading

We went to church with Lady and Paw Paw.  I had no idea what the preacher was saying but we managed to stay long enough for him to finish his sermon.  I will take any small victory and be grateful at this point.
The girls got to spend a lot of time in the big pool during Lady and Paw Paws visit.  I am usually too intimidated to take them in by myself.  Now that they've had the big pool they don't want to go back to their baby pool.
