Steph and Hannah

On Sunday, August 29, Jessica was 3 months old and finally ready to meet two of her mommy's favorite people. So Grandpa and Grandma packed a yummy lunch and we took a little road trip over to Ukiah, California to see Stephanie and Hannah. Hannah is such a big girl now, she just turned 5 on July 31. She was the first person to hold Jessica and I think Jessica really liked her. It was very sweet and I couldn't help but remember when Hannah was as little as Jessica and how excited I got over seeing her and holding her... I can't believe little Jessica will someday be a big girl like Hannah. I'm soooo excited!
What came next was really cute: Hannah brought out her doll bed and wanted us to put Jessica in it. And, as everyone knows, Jessica likes being stuffed into little boxes (refer to "tipping the scales" blog) so in the baby doll bed she went. And she liked it too!

Jessica found Stephanie to be quite comfy and she fell asleep in her arms.

We had the added bonus of seeing Stephanie's boyfriend Jay and meeting Jay's son, Julian, who is 10 years old and was a perfect gentleman. Hannah showed us how Julian could ride her around on his shoulders. It made me feel really good to see that Jay and Julian were treating Hannah and Steph so well. We went outside so Hannah, Julian and Jay could play catch and we had to block the sun from Jessica's face somehow... so I put the "udder cover" on dad and I couldn't resist taking a picture, pretty hilarious.Dad takes his Grandpa duties pretty seriously.Hee hee, I got a pic of Steph stuffin' the face. The visits with Steph are never enough but I am soooo glad that my dad drove us over to see them. I think he enjoyed himself too. If it's anything like the last visit dad will be talking about how adorable Hannah was for weeks to come.
Here's a video of Jessica cooing at me on the drive over.

Here's a video of Hannah holding Jessica for the first time... I should've warned her to watch out for Jessica's little flying fists of fury.

New Toy Joy

Jessica is finding out that grandparents have the coolest toys and she is really showing off her playing skills for grandpa this week.
This swing is WAY cooler than the one she has at home because it has lights that blink. Jess is a sucker for lights and fans and grandpa.
Grandpa is pleased with this play pen and changing table setup. Jessica smiles every time grandpa puts her on the changing table because she anticipates getting her calves rubbed with baby oil, something we've recently discovered that she really enjoys.
The paddles on this floor gym cause lights to blink and music to play when Jess hits them with her hand and it didn't take her long to figure out how to make it go.Tongue out means intrigued.

Hand poised in slapping mode.
Wow, that is an awesome ceiling fan.

Here are some videos of the swing and the floor gym for your enjoyment.

Cali Bound

Jessica and I are on a two week vacation from Texas in California to visit with her California family. Daddy got his snuggle time in while he could the night before we left.Jessica enjoyed strolling around the airport in her luxury stroller. I enjoyed the cupholders. We swiveled in and out of the Southwest "line up" poles and she thought that was pretty funny. Our first flight from San Antonio to San Diego was pretty empty so we got to bring the carseat on the airplane and Jessica got the window seat (like her daddy).
She pretty much slept the whole 2 hr 40 min plane ride.
Flying into San Diego was gorgeous, I didn't know whether to look out the window or at my precious daughter... I was torn!
Jessica asleep on the layover:
We had to go back out through security in San Diego to get to our next gate so we ended up going through security twice, what a pain! People kept offering to hold Jessica and I kept declining... funny, they didn't offer to hold my bags. I am not going to let some germy stranger hold my precious baby girl even though they were practically begging, one woman offered like 3 times!
Grandpa Jim was waiting at the airport when we arrived and the transition was smooth... I got bored in the car and played dress up with my sunglasses.
When we got back to Grandpa's place Jessica and I took off our dirty plane clothes and Jessica got a much needed bath.
The sunlight coming throught the kitchen window was pleasantly warm.

Grandpa is spoiling her something fierce.
Jessica looks gigantic in Grandma Kari's lap.
We have lots of fun stuff planned for this visit so stay tuned.

Big Show

We had a showing of our house tonight. I spent all day getting ready for strangers to walk through our house for 15 minutes. Our showing was scheduled for 6:30-7:30pm so we packed up Jessica and Bunker (because we didn't want him around mingling with potential buyers) in the car, parked in the culdesac two houses away and spyed on our own house while the showing took place. Well, they showed up at 7:15 and left at 7:30pm. We are anxiously awaiting feedback. Right before we left for the showing the news came on and told us that pre-owned home sales were at a record low so we are pretty discouraged... On a brighter note, Jessica was really cute in the car while we waited for strangers to go through our house. Here she is drowsing, I took her out of the car seat and held her because we were parked. (I felt really guilty about cleaning the house all day and not paying enough attention to her).

A close up of the sweetest baby in the world:
Hmmmm, what is she thinking?....Yep, should've known she'd give me the classic "J-bird".
Here's the daddy playing with his new droid phone... he was playing frogger.
Bunker was nestled in a cat carrier in the passenger seat next to Joe... what a good sport!

Just Because

I came across these pictures today as I was looking through our hard drive for pics for Jessica's baby book. These are definitly blog worthy.

The pictures above were taken at the Atlanta airport right before we got on our plane to fly back to Texas. And the next pictures were taken during a photo shoot at Lady and Paw Paw's.

Hope you enjoyed looking at these as much as I did!
