Tummy Time on Tuesday

Here's a video of my squirmy little princess having a some tummy time yesterday. You can see a few flakes around her forehead where she is getting a little cradle cap. Joe and I both had cradle cap so we were expecting that she would get it too.

Sleeping Beauty

Last night and this morning I seemed to get a ton of pictures of Jessica sleeping so I figured I would go with it.
This is the sling that I carry her around in (so I can get stuff done around the house and not feel like I am neglecting her). Joe thinks she looks really cozy in it.

This was taken after her bath last night and she was definitely ready for bed after a nice warm soak.
Joe took this picture of Jessica and Bunker sleeping next to each other. Here's the afternoon nap, at different stages:

Here's a video of Jessica when she is awake.

Paparazzi Mommy

Today we tried to get Jessica's 1 month old picture taken at JCPenney. We got a package and let's just say that it was worth the $8 we paid for it but not worth the hassle of leaving the house with a 4 week old infant. Jessica is more candid at home and the photographer wasn't very good, and that's me being nice. When I got home I had to affirm to myself that Jessica was WAY cuter than those pictures at JCPenney made her look. Here are some of the ones I took: Total concentration.
I caught her making a pooh face.
She likes to have a hand for her light afternoon snack.
Yep, cuter than a puppy.
This one is just to show that she is starting to get some meat on her bones.
If you look at the blog post "A Visit to the Germ Factory" you can compare this picture to the one taken 2 and a half weeks ago.

Parting is Such Sweet Sorrow

Grandpa Jim and Grandma Kari left today and it wasn't easy letting them go. When I told dad to drive safe he replied, "Of course, I have so much to live for" as he looked at Jessica and I almost lost it. Here are a few pics from the past couple days:

Joe and I managed to squeeze in another family photo right before we left for his birthday dinner. Of course we talked about Jess the whole time and got home a half hour before we were supposed to.

We went to Chili's and it was delicious. Grandpa Jim and Grandma Kari were excellent babysitters.

More visit with Grandma and Grandpa

Jessica loves being held all the time and of course we are going to give our little princess what ever she wants. So Here are some pictures of Grandpa Jim holding her. Dad must think Jess is beautiful because he tells her so like 50 times a day (not exagerating).

Grandpa Jim is a good cook, he made meals for us to eat when he flew out to TX for Jessica's birth. Those meals were soooo delicious that we requested a few more this visit.Grandma Kari has a calming effect on Jessica.
This picture is cute because Jessica is managing to grab Kari's shirt and flip me the bird simultaneously.

Jessica got weighed on her Daddy's food scale this morning. It is a digital scale so we zeroed it out with the plastic bin on it. The diaper weighs 0.7 oz so, with that in mind, she tipped the scales at 6 lbs 12.5 oz.
Here's a side view:
My dad thought it was funny that she actually seemed to like being put in the plastic bin to be weighed... she IS the best baby ever.
At night when the visitors leave Pinkerton finds her way back on to my lap. Baby or no baby she needs her momma time too.

Kitchen Sink Soaker

We thought it would be fun to give Jess a bath in the kitchen sink today... I think she enjoyed it.

Here is a video, she didn't make a peep during the entire bath she just sat there with those big eyes.

A Visit from Grandpa Jim and Grandma Kari

Today Jessica met Grandma Kari for the first time and Grandpa Jim finally got to hold his first grandchild.
Jessica was wide awake when they got here this morning and she just stared at them for a very long time as they talked to her and introduced themselves.
She slept on Grandpa Jim for hours... it was a match made in heaven. As usual she was completely adorable and showed off her many adorable expressions as they cooed at her.
Oh yeah... I couldn't resist dressing up my little doll for another photo shoot, enjoy:

If you look closely she is trying to pop that finger up again in the picture below.
Here's a good picture of her dimple.
