Jessica Day 6

Not too much has changed with Jessica in the last 24 hours except the fact that she has moved into the level 2 NICU. She is still under the incessant blue light and it looks like she shivers because she is completely exposed. When they turn the heater on her, she gets too hot. Hopefully her bilirubin will be lower tomorrow so they can turn the light off and get some warm clothes on her. We put socks on her feet, but they are huge on her and keep falling off. One of the nurses gave her a big bean bag and as you can see, she loves to snuggle up with it.
All of Jessica's feedings are with breast milk now and Lexi even got to breastfeed her once. She is quite the difficult eater. We used to let her sit in our arms to nurse, but she would get too comfortable and just fall asleep. Now we keep her on the table so she can concentrate on eating rather than snuggling. As soon as the blue light comes off, I think we can hold her as much as we want.
So cute! Finally a full bellyJust in case you were wondering where Jesssica was born, here's a pic.

We are way late, but congrats on becoming parents! Glad to hear she is progressing well. Sounds like she is definitely a fighter!

I've had friends with preemies who ended up buying baby doll clothes so that they would fit better until they could wear the regular newborn size. Maybe they sell baby doll booties?

We are looking forward to meeting Jessica sometime soon!

Oh she looks so sweet and cuddly! She loves her bean bag! Makes the nickname Jessybean fit even better... She looks exactly like... both of you! I know how tiny those socks are so it's amazing how big they are on her. I love you! Can't wait to see you on the 12th!
