Never Too Young

I had a special request for a family visit to the zoo on Saturday. Joe isn't really a zoo person so he tried to tell me that Jessica is too young to appreciate the zoo. I didn't buy that for one minute. After all, she appreciates Bunker and Pinky and they are just domesticated zoo creatures. As soon as we got to the zoo Daddy discovered a fun new game: he pushed J's stroller really close to the shrubs and she would stick out her fingers and let the leaves brush her hand. Then the real fun started. Jess proved to Joe that she was definitely not too young with every squeal and kick (and there were tons)! She stared at all the animals and tried to talk to them too.The azaleas are beautiful right now in the panhandle. This zoo had free range peacocks, really cool! Here are some other animals: Small Leopard
A bird of some sort. Some stripey tailed monkey like thingies (not the technical name but who cares).
An armadillo. I'd never seen one alive and up close. There were plenty smashed on the roads in Texas. This was Joe's favorite animal of the day. The African part was gorgeous and we had fun feeding the turtles/catfish in the water below. There is a black monkey on the platform behind Jess.
Jess decided a quick nap was in order. Daddy was just too comfortable. She slept for about 30 minutes and woke up bright eyed and ready to see more animals

We couldn't resist! I do carry her around in a pouch of sorts all day.

Big kitties... lazy lions. Here's a video of the tiger, I think it probably thought that Jessica looked pretty plump and tasty.

You could feed the goats at your own risk. A sign advised to feed them with a cup.

Jess decided to scream at them instead of feeding them.
We did feed a giraffe though.

Here's a video of us feeding the giraffe.

We also fed this llama, you can here Jessica squealing while I try to film it.

I fed the llama too but I was a little nervous holding Jess that close so I ended the party early.

Here is Jessica at home enjoying some strawberries.
She likes to drop things on the floor for Bunker. Here's a video of Joe crackin' her up during dinner time. (While Bunker tries to get my food!)

Jess gets a bath in her duck tub every night, this night she ended up sideways and I thought her little wiggly toes looked really cute.

Is She Crawling?

I had to share this with everyone, Sooooo exciting!

Joe says that this is definitely a "low-crawl" and would be very useful to her in a combat situation. She IS propelling herself forward...

Here's the latest video of the blooming friendship between Jess and Bunker.

She is a little too mobile in her walker. She destroyed one of my favorite plants the other day. She smiled really big when she saw the anguish on my face.

I left her alone with her daddy for one night and she went rogue under the strong Haggerty infuence (the spider tattoo was a Valentine gift from her cousins Kathryn and Nathan). She is loving her new carrier. She is asleep in it right now! I snapped these pics and added them to the end of my blog. Too cute not to share.

Nate and Kate's Great Escape

Jessica's cousins, Nathan and Kathryn, decided they wanted to get away for a while. So, Lady and Paw Paw loaded them up in the car and drove them down to Uncle Larry and Aunt Ruth's beach condo for a few days of fun in the sun. Since they were so close, it made perfect sense to drive over to Pensacola to see Jessica. As these pictures show, these kids crammed tons of fun into a few short hours.

The new baby carrier came in handy
Kathryn remembered how much she liked Jessica's chair at Christmas and reclaimed it.Hanging out on the front porchAnd in the living room (under Bunker's watchful eye, of course) But then we all decided to go over to the playground across from our house.

Nathan enjoyed the teeter totters And the merry go round
Then Kathryn saw the fun and demanded to get on
And yes, everyone but Lady and Jessica piled on the merry go round.Kathryn got on the swings all by herselfShe had a little help from her brother. You can see the delight in her face.Nathan and Kathryn like the big trees in front of our house. Jessica had to enjoy the festivities from her suped up strollerBut she still had fun
Too cute!
Here are some videos of Jessica and Kathryn hanging out together while Lady, Paw Paw, Joe and Nathan were at the museum. You can tell these two are gonna like living close to each other when Aunt Megan moves to Florida in June.

They had fun wrestling around in Jessica's crib

Jessica loves watching everything Kathryn or Nathan do.

Enjoying some mum mums together

Another fun week in Pensacola

We had a pretty awesome week so I thought I would post some of the cute moments I captured. We had a play date in the park with my friend Audra and her little girl Alyssa who is turning two in April. Here are some pictures of that:
Here's a cute picture of our friends.Swings are a must when going to the park. Alyssa goes in the big girl swing.
Jessie loves being outside right in the action.
She watched Alyssa chase bubbles.
The neighborhood kids are always leaving their toys out in the park so you never know what treasures you are going to find to play with. We found this ball. I have to slip in another mommy and Jessie picture since Audra takes great pictures.
Jess kept her hat on the whole time. She discovered it and decided it needed to come off right before we went in. The look of sheer determination is priceless. Alyssa thought it was really fun to give Jessica her bottle and she was really good at it.
Here's another cute video of Jessica in her walker.

Here are a couple funny videos of Jessica during meal time. She purses her lips and seals her top lip against her nose, it looks so funny I can't help but laugh and then she laughs because I'm laughing.
