Mooma and Grandad Meet Allison- part 2

Mooma had her arms full of granddaughters all week. Jessica got to go outside every day during Mooma and Grandad's visit, sometimes twice a day.Now that the weather is a little cooler, a trip outside doesn't require a bath afterward, just a face and hand washing. Mooma came in with a pocket full of acorns one time.Jessica still likes the swings, but now she demands that you swing with her after you get her going. She must have pointed to the swing and commanded Grandad to fall in line, hee hee.She had Grandad wrapped around her little finger all week. She would just walk up and pull on his shirt and drag him around.Jessica goes down the slide like a big girl now.We discovered that Allie likes the front loader as much as Jessi did. Good, that will give me one free arm to scratch my nose. Jessica went to her pediatrician for her 18 month checkup. She was entertained by Grandad while we waited for 45 minutes (so glad I had help for that visit!)

She's playing peekaboo with Grandad while Mooma holds Allison.Allison slept through the whole ordeal. Except for when we put her on the scale in curiosity and found out that she was over 10 pounds. Jessica weighed 26 lbs (79%) and she was 2'9" tall (84%).

Jessica painted some artwork for Mooma and Grandad to take home with them. She enjoyed eating the paint more that squishing it in her fingers. Here's a video of J painting.

Grandpa Jim and Grandma Kari sent the girls a Christmas box with lots of pretty clothes. Jessica really likes the mittens. She wore them for almost an hour, even while she ate Pringles. While we're on the subject of food and Jessica... Mooma and Grandad found out just how difficult it is to get J to eat, she is just too busy to sit down and eat and too picky. In this picture, she is sitting on the couch holding her mouth open with a bite in it trying to decide if she should eat it. She has been teething a lot lately, and to my surprise, she popped out three new molars.

Mooma and Grandad got her a car like the one she has in California. She likes to watch TV like she's in a drive in movie.

I made Mooma and Grandad help me get the first professional pictures of Jess n Allie together. It was exhausting, to say the least, but totally worth it.

Jessica is into everything these days, it's really hard to keep up with her. Grandad took on that responsibility while I picked out which poses I needed. Here's a video of Jessica going crazy in the shoe department of Kohl's.

Allison got plenty attention too. Here are a couple videos of Allison awake and alert.

This is what my daily world is going to look like when I am left to fend for myself. Wonderfully busy.

Mooma and Grandad Meet Allison

Last Friday the girls and I picked Mooma and Grandad up at the airport. They were prepared for a week of spoiling with a couple new books for Jessica and new clothes for Allison. Mooma sat in the backseat all week with the girls and Grandad got really good at getting Jess in and out of her car seat. Here's a picture of the fantastic foursome. Jessica stuck a sticker on Grandad's nose and thought it was pretty funny. The face stickers didn't stop with Grandad. Here's a video of Mooma practically begging for a sticker on her face.

Allie thought the face stickers were pretty funny too.Allie got a personalized teddy bear and bouquet of baby clothes from GGP.She is over ten pounds now and has outgrown newborn clothes. She is wearing size 1 diapers. I just can't take my eyes of Allie sometimes, it feels like I am gazing upon God's finest artwork.
Grandad and Mooma got Jess some cool new pink cowgirl boots. She points and whimpers until I put them on her... she's also figured out that she can kick them off and they double as a weapon that way. Jessica got to spend a lot of time outside this week.

Mooma showed Jessi how to draw with chalk.Of course Bunker was never far away.Mooma and Jessi also enjoyed some bubbles.
Here's a cute picture of me and Jessica riding the carousel at the outlets in Foley, AL.

Here's a video of Jessica trying to get away from us at the outlets, the balloon was slowing her down though.

Here's a cute video of Jessica and Mooma playing peekaboo.

There will be more blogs on Mooma and Grandad's visit, there is just too much material for one post.

Allison's Two Week Checkup

Allison had her two week checkup with the Pediatrician on Monday. Here's her stats: 8 lbs 15 oz (69%), 20.47" long (55%). I don't have her head circumference but they said it was 49%. And, just like her big sister, she pooped on the scale (I didn't get a picture of that though). The doctors were impressed by how strong she was and how much she could hold her head up already. After two weeks I figured Jess couldn't do too much damage if I let her hold her baby sister.

She held her very gently, probably because she's watched her cousin Kathryn do it so many times. She did well up until the point where I tried to take Alli back... that was scary. Jessica is really strong when she doesn't want to let go of something.

I bet everyone is wondering if Jessi ever got her hands on those flowers that Grandpa Jim and Grandma Kari got Allison. Those flowers stayed pretty for a long time but once I saw some wilting I pulled out a few and handed them to Jess and Joe grabbed the video camera. Here are the videos of that.

Thanksgiving Blog

We celebrated Thanksgiving in Niceville with the Meissners, Lady and Paw Paw and cousin Laura this year. On Tuesday Nathan and Paw Paw drove over to Pensacola to drop Lady off for a couple nights. This was Lady and Paw Paw's first time meeting Allison.Jessica was really excited when Nathan showed up.Allison is gazing at Paw Paw.Nathan gazing at Allison gazing at Lady.Jessica couldn't let Nathan and Allison have all the fun.Jessica had Lady all to herself on Wednesday. Here is a video of her trying to force feed Lady some french fries.

When Jess went down for a nap Lady and Joe got to spend some time admiring Allison.

On Thanksgiving morning we drove over to the Meissner's. Here is a video of the girls in the spaceship.

Here's a picture of the family at Thanksgiving. Nathan is hiding behind Kathryn so he's barely visible.

Aunt Megan says that Allison reminds her of Kathryn when she was a baby. Jessica played her little heart out... destroying all the cool lego houses that Nathan spent a lot of time building.
Kathryn was still infatuated with her new baby.

Kathryn is setting a good example for Jessica... but we are going to let Jessica keep practicing with a doll for a little while longer.

Jessica and Kathryn seemed to find their groove this visit. They squealed and played nicely together this time. Here's a video of the girls dancing in the matching jumpers that Lady made them.

Lady draws eyebrows on Kathryn and Jessica got eyebrows this time too.

Here's another video of the girls playing.

And now I'm just sorry that I didn't get any pictures of the food, it was delicious. I had one of the best Thanksgivings ever, thanks to the Meissner's and their wonderful hospitality.
