Meema and Grandad picked up a pouch of 1500 live ladybugs to release in their garden. I was told that ladybugs were good for your garden because they eat the bad bugs that eat your plants. There were very specific instructions on how to release these ladybugs: first you put them in the fridge to hibernate them; then you take them out a half hour before release; then wet your plants; then release at night. Grandpa Jim use to collect ladybugs and sell them when he was younger.
We showed Jessica the little critters in the sack before we went outside. She was fascinated by the captive creatures.
Jessica was a good helper during the release.

Jessica and Allison made a stepping stone with their foot prints while we were there. It turned out quite good. We decorated it with a ladybug to commemorate the visit.

We had such a wonderful time! Too bad we didn't get a picture of you and Allison, also members of the ladybug release crew. GREAT memories. The stepping stone DID turn out fantastic and it was too precious to leave outside so it is on the fireplace hearth. :)
That was a great idea. Looked like it turned out great. Very cute.
What a cute ladybug project. I remember collecting those things when I was a kid. You could get 25 dollars a gallon back then for them.
